Unigen Corporation, a Silicon Valley-based leader in Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS), officially celebrated the grand opening of Unigen Malaysia, its newest manufacturing facility in Kulim Hi-Tech Park (KHTP). Key individuals in attendance were:
- Paul W. Heng, Unigen Founder and CEO
- Gary Yeoh, Unigen Malaysia General Manager
- Puan Nazlizan Abdullah, Director of MIDA Kedah/Perlis
- Encik Mohd Zaid Abdul Jalil, Deputy Group CEO, Kulim Technology Park Corporation (KTPC)
In addition, several high-ranking government officials, business partners, customers, suppliers, consultants, and industry associates were also present.
While the facility achieved production-ready status in November 2025, today’s ceremony marks the formal integration of this site into Unigen’s global network.

Automation & Warehousing 4.0
The Kulim location is now Unigen’s most automated global site. The state-of-the-art site is equipped with the most advanced manufacturing lines and the latest in production automation, positioning Unigen to address the needs of bleeding-edge requirements for emerging markets such as Artificial Intelligence and Smart Cities. It is also a flagship for Warehousing 4.0, utilizing an “intelligent material flow” system that ensures end-to-end traceability at reel-level granularity. Using Neotel Technology’s SMD BOX XLR and XLC, the facility automates the storage and retrieval of high-volume reels and ESD containers without manual intervention. Additionally, all systems are orchestrated via Smart Material Flow (SMF) software, which synchronizes AGV control, component counting, and real-time kitting with the facility’s ERP and MES.

ESG Commitment
Beyond technical milestones, Unigen Malaysia has already demonstrated its commitment to the local community through the K-Youth Development Program. In partnership with Talent Suites, Unigen has helped 45 young Malaysian trainees gain critical technical and professional skills, preparing them for the modern digital job market.
In line with Unigen’s commitment to corporate social responsibility, the company worked closely with local authorities to ensure that the new facility was built with a sustainable footprint.
“While our facility has been production-ready since November 2025, today’s official opening is a celebration of how far we have come. It reflects the successful establishment of our operations in Malaysia and underscores Unigen’s long-term commitment to investing in local talent, supporting our customers, and contributing to the growth of Malaysia’s advanced manufacturing industry.” – Gary Yeoh, General Manager of Unigen Malaysia.
